Culture And Health Platform – Call for project proposals 2025 in Finland is open!

The CultureAndHealth Platform is pleased to announce its first call for project proposals in the period of February-May 2025 in eleven EU-countries. Given the diversity of activities and the different starting points in the various EU-countries, the calls are adapted to local circumstances. Similar calls are planned at national and international level over the next three years (2026-2028). The first international call is also ongoing and can be found here.
The first national call for project proposals in Finland opens on 25th February and closes on 31st March 2025. Decisions on the selected projects and artists will be made by 30th April 2025. All the applicants will be informed of the decision by 2nd May 2025.
What kind of projects are supported?
In Finland, The CultureAndHealth Platform call will support four artistic or cultural projects that aim to improve health and well-being of individuals or communities through working interdisciplinary with the health, social or educational sectors.
Three of these projects will each receive 8,000 euros in funding, while one project will be awarded 10,000 euros. This project, with a 10,000-euro budget is supported by Turku city’s cultural flagship project. All the projects must be carried out between 1st May 2025 and 30th November 2025.
Projects could include for example:
– participatory art programmes for people experiencing physical and mental health problems
– projects that focus on prevention of multiple health conditions
– projects that are targeted to people at risk for mental health issues, loneliness and social isolation
– art in healthcare or social environments including projects that enhance healthcare environments and support the staff’s and the patient’s or resident’s well-being
– productions in healthcare or social settings: which could include performances, installations, exhibitions that support general well-being and highlight health-related issues
– artists residencies in healthcare or social care settings.
The projects shall look into either integrating new artistic practices – or strengthening existing programmes – into local communities and established structures to foster long-term connections and sustainability.
The partner organisation from the health, social or education sector needs to be contacted prior to the application stage. The partner organisation needs to write a short letter of collaboration that needs to be submitted with the application.
Who can apply?
The grant can be applied by individual emerging artists or working groups of artists, who have some experience working with different communities and an interest in developing their skills in the field of arts and health.
Participating artists are required to have fluent English skills and an interest in participating in international cooperation. The artists will participate in the Culture And Health Platform showcase event in Turku 29th and 30th September 2025. They will also attend two peer meetings with other artists.
